I learned yesterday that I have been shortlisted for a 2007 National Magazine Award (Canadian, that is) for a story I penned on the politics of global warming.
My piece, the September cover story for This Magazine, looked at climate change skeptics and how they use PR tactics to slow government action on climate change, focusing on a Canadian consortium of manufacturing and oil interests (which did not deny the reality of climate change but which tried to convince the government not to sign the Kyoto treaty).

This is my second NMA shortlisting – my first was for my 2005 cover story for Shameless magazine on female genital plastic surgery.
